Hiking up the Mt Townsend Trail along Townsend Creek in Olympic National Parks is one of the most lovely hikes in the Pacific Northwest. The explosion of rhododendrons every spring in the lowlands and the spreading fields of mountain phlox up high in the summer, not to mention the forever and literal take-you-breath-away view from up high makes the payoff well worth the effort.
